A Blockchain, originally Block Chain, is a growing list of records, called blocks, that are linked using cryptography.

Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data.

A block in a blockchain is a collection of data. The data is added to the block in blockchain, by connecting it with other blocks in chronological orders, creating a chain of blocks linked together.

The first block in the Blockchain is called Genesis Block.

The Blockchain is a distributed ledger, which simply means that a ledger is spread across the network among all peers in the network, and each peer holds a copy of the complete ledger.

Simply put, the Blockchain technology is the technology responsible for keeping, processing, managing and organizing records of data of these virtual money exchanges and transactions
